Michael graduated in New Zealand with a Master of Osteopathy. He has additional post-graduate training involving diagnosing, myofascial release, and paediatrics. His master’s thesis reviewed aspects of dysfunctional breathing to help identify potential causes of poor breathing patterns and several ways of treating these patterns osteopathically.
Michael’s approach to osteopathy is primarily structural. This structural approach aims to reduce pain and improve the quality of movement using soft tissue techniques such as myofascial release and trigger point work. Additionally, Michael may use joint mobilisation and joint manipulation––followed by subtle functional techniques as required.
The main goal of Michael’s approach involves discovering what factors are likely causing your concerns. In finding the origin of your discomfort, Michael can then work with you more effectively towards addressing any related postural habits or movement patterns preventing full recovery.
